UNIDO Sustainable Industrial Park Platform

A global go-to knowledge platform and resource center on industrial parks designed for policy makers in the Global South

UNIDO Sustainable Industrial Park Platform

Overview

The Industrial Park Platform - IPP is a global knowledge platform that serves as a resource centre for industrial parks and other related area development initiatives around the world. Knowledge sharing is one of the most valuable tools for developing countries and transition economies to learn from each other, develop effective institutions, and build capacities. South-South cooperation becomes a major instrument as it helps replicate and upscale good practices and facilitate technology transfer useful to develop Sustainable Industrial Parks, thus contributing to the attainment of the SDGs. Following this approach, the SIPP platform features tools and knowledge developed and gathered from various UNIDO programs and funded by different donors, offering a wide set of learning activities and best practices.

Approach

IPP's mission is to consolidate and disseminate industrial parks-related analysis, tools, and best practices to support knowledge-based decision-making. The platform also accelerates dialogue among various actors, disseminates capacity-building training in the form of e-learning courses, and facilitates partnerships and networking among industrial park stakeholders.

E-learning courses are available for free, covering topics such as the sustainable operations and management of IPs, investment and financing, as well as IP planning

The platform also accelerates dialogue among IP actors, facilitates partnerships and networking through the regular organization of trainings and workshops.
