VIENNA - The Federal Republic of Germany will support the second phase of the UNIDO project, Economic Empowerment of Women in Green Industry, which provides advice to policymakers and practitioners on the establishment and implementation of a policy framework to integrate gender and green industrial policies. The aim is to empower more women to take leadership roles in green industries as entrepreneurs or industrial professionals.

With the funding from Germany, UNIDO will continue to support Cambodia and South Africa in the implementation of national work plans focused on advancing the participation of women in  manufacturing and driving the greening of industrial practices.

The project will build upon the commitment participating governments have made to implement policies and build the capacity of government officials at national and local levels to use the Training of Trainers model to deliver more targeted services to women entrepreneurs. The project will also work with countries to create an enabling policy environment for women to develop and lead green businesses.
