The Global Alliance for Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency (GACERE), with a contribution from the EU-funded Switch programmes, presents the webinar A global perspective on circular textiles, which aims to inform and consolidate knowledge on policies and instruments to facilitate a transition to a circular textile value chain, especially in the Global South.

Starting from a policy perspective globally and in the European Union, particularly with the recent Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the webinar will then present some methodologies and success stories on the areas of work to achieve a more circular textile sector. This segment will feature sectoral experts and companies from beneficiary countries, in the context of the Switch projects, focusing specifically on the role and challenges of post-industrial recycling. Subsequently, experts from UNIDO and UNEP will offer ideas on how to scale up the impact through sectoral roadmaps and avenues to receive technical assistance.

This webinar will target the following profiles:

• Ministries’ representatives, policy experts (both in the industry and environment fields)
• Sectoral experts (e.g., from textiles associations), especially in the Global South
• International cooperation actors and donor entities

The webinar will be recorded and made available through the GACERE social media channels. Insights from the webinar will also be summarized in a webinar report, which will be part of the GACERE body of knowledge.
