Inclusive Green Growth

Mobilizing Private Sector for Climate and Environment Investments

Inclusive Green Growth

Overview

Despite the highly promising financial, economic, social, and environmental returns, green investment opportunities for the private sector are still largely untapped due to various barriers. These include low market visibility, information asymmetries, lack of knowledge and skills in certain advanced green and circular technologies, lack of adequate finance for green manufacturing and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and nascent ecosystems. To address these challenges, the Inclusive Green Growth project and its partners are driving market system changes to create a more favorable environment to businesses and the workforce in the green and circular economy

Approach

This initiative focuses on supporting SMEs through market-driven strategies, enhancing institutional capacities, and facilitating investments to promote green and circular economies

Specialized support to bring to the market innovative green and circular business models, products and technologies, that meet domestic and export market needs and requirements while at the same time safeguarding the environment and contributing to climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Public and private business development service providers, banks, NGOs, and academia acquire knowledge and skills to improve services for SMEs and the workforce in the green and circular economy, and also address policy and regulatory gaps.

Together with public and private sector, promising climate and environment business and investment opportunities at small, medium and large scales are analyzed and promoted among national and international market players.
